How to edit your website.

Change your words, update your prices, and swap photos without touching code. Here's how, step by step.

First, a few things to know

Your website is already built. You don't need to install coding software or download GitHub. We use a simple editor called Pages CMS to make updates.

You'll need: your GitHub account with access to your website's repository, an internet connection, and any replacement photos you want to use. If you haven't been invited to the repository yet, contact Trailmarker first.

01 / Sign in to your editor

GET STARTED
  1. Go to app.pagescms.org.
  2. Sign in with your GitHub account and authorize Pages CMS if prompted.
  3. Choose the repository for your website.
  4. Select the page you want to edit, such as Home, About, Services, or Rates. Your page names may differ.

Don't see your website? Make sure you're using the GitHub account that was granted access.

02 / Edit words, services, or prices

TEXT UPDATES
  1. Open the page you want to change.
  2. Find the field that contains the wording or price you want to update.
  3. Click into the field and replace the existing text.
  4. Double-check spelling, phone numbers, and prices.
  5. Click Save when you're finished.

For example, to update a service price, open the Rates or Pricing page, change the amount, and save. You can come back and edit it again whenever you need.

03 / Upload or replace photos

PHOTO UPDATES
  1. Open the page with the photo you want to change.
  2. Find the Upload replacement photo field (the wording may vary by website).
  3. Click the image upload area and select a photo from your computer. If the editor supports dragging files into that area, you can drag and drop instead.
  4. Wait for the upload to finish, then click Save.
  5. Open the live website to confirm the new photo appears.
Photo tip: Use clear, high-quality JPG, PNG, or WebP images. Landscape photos work best for wide banners. Avoid huge files when possible, since smaller images help pages load faster.

Some websites have both an original photo URL field and an upload field. Use the upload field to replace a picture; you usually won't need to touch the URL.

04 / Save and check your live website

PUBLISHING
  1. Click Save in Pages CMS.
  2. Pages CMS saves your update to GitHub.
  3. Cloudflare Pages automatically rebuilds your website when the connected branch changes.
  4. Wait a little, then refresh your live website to see the result.

Changes may take a few minutes to appear. If you still see the old version, try a hard refresh or check again shortly.

05 / What is GitHub for?

Think of GitHub as the place where your website files are stored. Pages CMS is the easy editing screen. Cloudflare Pages is what makes your website visible online.

OPTIONAL / ADVANCED

You can also open GitHub in a browser to view files, upload assets, and see past changes. But for everyday text and photo edits, stick with Pages CMS. There's no need to download the GitHub Desktop app or edit HTML files yourself.

Need help?

I can't find my website

Check which GitHub account you're signed into and whether it has access to the website repository.

My new photo isn't showing

Confirm you used the upload field, clicked Save, and waited for the site to publish. Then refresh the page.

I changed something by mistake

Stop making further changes and contact Trailmarker. GitHub keeps a history of saved updates, so earlier versions can often be restored.

Want something bigger changed? Adding new pages, changing the layout, or building new features is different from editing text and photos. Reach out and we'll help plan it.
